The VetFund is governed by the VetFund Committee, which is
appointed by the Secretary of the California Department of Veterans. The Committee shall
review funding requests for projects from both internal and external sources and make
recommendations to the Secretary for approval and implementation.
The Committee shall also review proposed expenditures relating to approved
projects and proposed expenditures relating to any fundraising efforts and recommend
approval by the Secretary.
The Committee consists of five members appointed by the Secretary:
- Jack Kirwan, Deputy Secretary for Administration (Vice Chair)
- J.P. Tremblay, Deputy Secretary for Communications, Legislation, Public Affairs and
Marketing
- Dr. Vernon Chong
- Barbara Ward, Deputy Secretary for Women and Minority Veterans
- John King, Deputy Secretary for Veterans Services
