Licensing and Certification Test Reimbursement
If you are eligible, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) can reimburse you for taking a license or certification test. Eligibility, in part, is as follows:
- Licensing and certification tests taken on or after March 1, 2001 are reimbursable for Chapter 30, 32, and 35 beneficiaries only.
- Chapter 1606 and 1607 beneficiaries became eligible for these benefits on January 6, 2006.
VA can pay only for the cost of the tests, up to $2,000.00, and not other fees connected with obtaining a license or certification. VA will pay for tests even if failed. Payment is issued after you submit proof of payment to the VA. The test must be approved for VA purposes. To find out which licensing or certification tests are approved for VA purposes we have provided a link to the VA database that allows you to search the list of approved tests.
